CV International was founded by Wayne Coleman in Norfolk, Virginia, with deep roots in maritime operations and a foundational belief: that CVI would serve as an extension of the customer's transportation department. That foundation—built on relationships and accountability—shaped how the company approaches coordination and execution.

As supply chains grew more complex, CVI evolved into a full-service freight forwarder and licensed customs brokerage, providing comprehensive logistics services to meet customer needs. The acquisition of Capes Shipping Agencies strengthened operational reach and maritime expertise, positioning the company to handle increasingly complex global trade.

Today, under the leadership of President & CEO Michael Coleman, CVI continues to operate with the same relationship-first approach that defined its founding.
