CV International isn't just a logistics provider—we're the partner companies turn to when getting international trade right matters. We're built on deep expertise, proactive communication, and genuine accountability.
Our clients trust us because we take ownership and follow through. They know that when they hand us a shipment, it will be managed with the same priority they'd give it themselves—and they won't have to chase us for answers or worry about things falling through the cracks.
CV International handles international logistics and customs brokerage for companies navigating complex, regulated, or time-sensitive shipments. We coordinate freight, clear customs, manage compliance, and keep all the moving parts aligned and on schedule.
We're built for cargo involving regulatory oversight, tight deadlines, or high operational stakes. We take responsibility for making sure shipments clear correctly, meet requirements, and arrive when and where they're supposed to—which means fewer surprises, less risk, and confidence that the details are handled.
CV International was founded by Wayne Coleman in Norfolk, Virginia, with deep roots in maritime operations and a foundational belief: that CVI would serve as an extension of the customer's transportation department. That foundation—built on relationships and accountability—shaped how the company approaches coordination and execution.
As supply chains grew more complex, CVI evolved into a full-service freight forwarder and licensed customs brokerage, providing comprehensive logistics services to meet customer needs. The acquisition of Capes Shipping Agencies strengthened operational reach and maritime expertise, positioning the company to handle increasingly complex global trade.
Today, under the leadership of President & CEO Michael Coleman, CVI continues to operate with the same relationship-first approach that defined its founding.
CV International and Capes Shipping Agencies operate under the same ownership and share operational infrastructure, systems, and institutional knowledge. Capes brings more than six decades of experience specializing in vessel husbandry and port agency—managing vessel movements, terminal operations, and cargo flow at the berth. Together, the two companies work from a common foundation of maritime expertise.
For our clients, that relationship provides direct advantages. When customers need both vessel agency services and freight forwarding or customs brokerage, they get a coordinated solution from end to end. We understand vessel operations and terminal coordination from the inside, with direct communication to the people managing cargo at the point of execution—bringing accountability and continuity that only come from being embedded in the maritime industry.
Many of our client relationships span years, even decades—built on doing what we say we'll do, taking ownership of outcomes, and operating with the kind of accountability that makes their jobs easier.
That's the foundation we've built CVI on, and it's what you can expect when you work with us.
