The United States Trade Representative has announced that it is investigating 60 countries to “…determine whether acts, policies, and practices of each of these economies related to the failure to impose and effectively enforce a ban on the importation of goods produced with forced labor are unreasonable or discriminatory and burden or restrict U.S. commerce.”
USTR has requested meetings with each of the countries regarding the upcoming investigations and will also hold hearings in Washington, DC, on April 28. The Federal Register announcement can be found here.
