President Trump has issued an Executive Order amending the IEEPA/Reciprocal tariffs on goods of Chinese origin. This tariff, scheduled to be effective on April 9, has been increased from 34% to 84%. This action follows the imposition of a 34% retaliatory tariff on US goods issued by China in response to the 34% IEEPA/Reciprocal tariff originally imposed. The exemption for goods exported prior to April 5 and entered for consumption prior to May 27 remains.
