Each year, at the beginning of Customs’ fiscal year (October 1), the fees they charge are reviewed and adjusted for inflation. As is usual, this year, there is an increase in the minimum and maximum fees for the merchandise processing fee (MPF). The calculated rate of the MPF, 0.3464% of the value, will remain the same; however, the minimum and maximum fees on formal entries increase. The minimum will change from $32.71 to $33.58, and the maximum will change from $634.62 to $651.50 for the coming year.
The harbor maintenance fee (HMF) will remain at 0.125% of the value. Since this has no minimum or maximum, there are no changes to this fee for the coming year. The increases will be effective for any cargo released via formal entry on or after October 1, 2025.
