More Companies Added to the UFLPA Entity List

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced the addition of 29 companies and subsidiaries to the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) Entity List.  Goods produced by listed companies are prohibited from entering the US due to forced labor concerns. With this action, there are now over 100 companies on the list. Companies on the list include those active in the apparel, agriculture, polysilicon, plastics, chemicals, electricals and appliance industries. Polysilicon is a primary component in solar power cells and was an early target of UFLPA.

The UFLPA legislation creates a rebuttable presumption that goods from the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR) in China are produced by forced labor. The presumption extends to any products made wholly or partially with goods mined, produced, or manufactured in the XUAR, regardless of where those products are produced.  As a part of the legislation, the Forced Labor Enforcement Task Force (FLETF), a DHS-led task force, is required to maintain and publish an entities list for companies identified as being in violation.

The additions were published in the Federal Register on November 25th under document number 2024-27337 and included one modification. The full UFLPA Entity List can be found on the DHS website here.
