US Supreme Court Strikes Down IEEPA Tariffs

In a 6-3 decision, the US Supreme Court has struck down the IEEPA tariffs implemented by the US administration. Chief Justice John Roberts, in his writing of the decision, said:

“The president must ‘point to clear congressional authorization’ to justify his extraordinary assertion of the power to impose tariffs,…he cannot.”

While this decision is a major setback for the administration, Treasury Secretary Bessent and others in the Administration have been busy preparing other tariff actions that allow the government to keep on collecting tariffs. As of this moment, we do not know if or how any refunds will be distributed—or whether new tariffs will be implemented.

The situation is fluid at the moment, and we will provide updates as they become available.
